Stained Glass Walking Tours
“Troy's Tiffany Treasures.” We our thrilled to announce the return with five co-hosting locations of our annual Tiffany glass tour. Troy is said to have more Tiffany glass per square mile than any other city in the world, including a few of the most famous ever produced. This guided walking tour and lecture covers the life and work of Louis Comfort Tiffany and several of his illustrious employees in their production of some astonishing works of art in glass. Our “Troy’s Tiffany Treasures” tour has been selected several times by Hudson Valley Magazine as the top event in the entire Hudson Valley for the month of September.
Our driving and walking tour will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm for $25 per person. The tour has limited tickets available and they are sold on a “First Come, First Serve” basis. To reserve your ticket(s), click on the Button below to create an email requesting the number of tickets, name(s), and contact information of each attendee. We will contact you via email for payment, and All Tickets Holders will be contacted 48 hours prior to the event as to where the tour will start.
Remember this is a multi-block walking tour, wear your comfortable shoes! All five of the locations are ADA compliant, but we need to know of specific needs before starting the tour.

Burden Iron Works Museum Tour
Troy’s Wynantskill stream is considered to be one of the birthplaces of the American iron industry. Come take a walk along the channel that saw two of the most important iron producing companies in the antebellum US: Erastus Corning’s Albany Iron Works, and Henry Burden’s Troy Nail Factory and later Burden Iron Works.
This walk involves a fairly active climb, so sensible walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are an absolute must.
Henry Burden was the first person in history to make horseshoes by machine and by the Civil War was producing 51 million shoes a year. We will begin with an overview here at the museum and then take a walk up to the famous “Niagara of Waterwheels” site.
This walk involves a fairly active climb, so sensible walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are an absolute must. Please note that it gets COLD in the woods in November.

We are very pleased to announce that we will offer Museum tours for the 2022 season, after we complete our current renovations. All NYS mandated pandemic provisions will be in effect, with limited attendance and masks required of all participants. All attendees MUST be pre-registered and paid, by calling the museum or through the email address below. The price is $25 per person per for guided and lecture tour.
